Sensory overload

‘Sensory Overload’ began at a four-day intensive on the human head in Niederalteich, Germany. As my first head sculpture, the piece presented entirely novel physical and spatial challenges. Over the next 18 months – supported by study with Tim Norris at Morley College and Alexandra Harley at City Lit – the physical act of carving and problem-solving mirrored the piece’s central theme: navigating the friction, weight, and complexity of the autistic experience.
